In Remembrance Gift Fundraiser

I started painting memorial portraits as a gift for the family in my teens. I’ve done a few by request, though most just because someone’s story touched me in such a powerful way that I had to paint a portrait of them. I wish I could do an original art for every family that loses a loved one, but I’m glad for even the small opportunities to bring some beauty to their homes.

In Remembrance: Carlos Travieso

I learned about Carlos’ tragic death through a collaboration I did with the Superhero Project to do a superhero portrait of his daughter ‘Lele’. Just a few months before I did her portrait, Carlos passed away from COVID. I wanted to paint a portrait of him as he was remembered, for Lele, her mother, and the rest of the family to have.
